Many fire have arisen by poor working practices before, during and after Hot Work has been carried out. The Hot Work Permit is a formal written document that ensures safe working practices are carried out and is signed by the managing authority and contractor/staff undertaking the work. Our Hot Work Permit booklet is a two part so a copy is retained by the managing authority and one by the contractor/staff.

The risk of fire is heightened when maintenance staff carry out hot work. A safe system of work needs to be strictly adhered to. Hot work is defined as “operations requiring the use of open flames or the local application of heat or friction”. This could include welding, grinding, flame cutting, soldering, brazing.
