Don't Overload Your Sockets !!

As a fire training provider we know at first hand that most people do not realise that they are overloading electrical sockets in their home. This is crucial for fire safety.

We actually make reference to electrical safety on our training courses and delegates openly admit they have no idea if they are overloading their sockets, or even how to check.  It is quite easy to overload sockets with the number of electrical appliances around the home and usually an insufficient  number of wall sockets.  Therefore home owners resort to buying extension leads block adaptors etc that can accommodate multiple plugs from two up to ten plugs.

Electric Safety First, a registered charity, have produced a very useful online tool which will give you a better understanding and allow you to use a calculator which will work out if you are overloading sockets in your home.

We recommend that you use this tool (see below) and we think you may be surprised !!

The Socket Calculator has been brought to you by Electrical Safety First.
